How to Add a Google Calendar App/Tab to Facebook

**Please Note – Facebook Tabs are not accessible on Mobile Devices**

Adding all your Google calendar events to Facebook allows visitors to easily add events to their own calendar.  Sometimes people forget to add Facebook events to their calendar, or they don’t RSVP. Here is a quick tutorial on how to add a your Google Calendar to your Facebook Page. All the steps are listed below so you can follow along with the video.

  1. Open up your Facebook Page
  2. In a separate tab open up your Google calendar
  3. Click on the cog in the upper right hand corner, and select “Settings”
  4. Click on “Calendars”
  5. Click on the calendar you want to add to your Facebook Page
  6. You should see the embed code here (If you want to make any color changes or style changes you will need to do it before adding it to your Facebook Page)
  7. Select all the code and copy it to your clipboard
  8. In another tab open this link: Static HTML: iframe tabs 
  9. Click “Add Static HTML to a Page”
  10. Select the page you want to add a new tab to from the dropdown menu
  11. Next click “Add Page Tab”
  12. Once you page has refreshed, click “Set up tab”
  13. Select all the text in the app editor, and delete it
  14. Paste the code that you copied from your Google calendar
  15. In the upper right hand corner click “Save and Publish”
  16. Refresh your Facebook Page and check out your new tab

How to customize your new Tab

  1. At the top of your Facebook Page, click “Settings”
  2. From the options in the left panel, click “Apps”
  3. Click “Edit Settings” under the Static HTML: iframe tabs app
  4. Enter in the new title and click “Save”, then hit “OK”
  5. To move where your tab shows up, click on “Manage Tabs” and drag your new tab to wherever you want it
  6. To manage where your apps show up, click on the pencil icon next to the about section
  7. Drag your apps to wherever you feel is appropriate
  8. To customize the image head back up to “Settings” in the upper right hand corner of your Facebook Page, and click on “Apps”
  9. Click “Edit Settings” under the Static HTML: iframe tabs app
  10. Click “Change” next to “Custom Tab Image”
  11. Hover over the grey star until you you can see the word edit. Click on edit to change the image.
  12. Choose a file from your computer that is exactly 111×74 pixels (the uploader will not accept images that are larger or smaller)
  13. Head back over to your Facebook Page to see your new tab in action
